This video was posted earlier this week and it made me smile but, because I am a bit dull, it also made me frown slightly too.
As a piss-take it’s quite amusing but I have two problems with it (because I am so dull – no fun at all!).
First it’s a bit unfair to Duncan Thomas, Amanda Anderson and Andrew Gilruth. Particularly to Andrew Gilruth because he is too sly a character ever to say the words which were, sort of, put in his mouth. So I had to wonder how I would feel if a similar thing were done to me from ‘the other side’. And that made me feel better because I’ve had far worse and just shrugged it off so I doubt that the three people involved will be shedding any tears over it. But I don’t like unfairness.
Second, it’s so good that it’s a missed opportunity. As a campaigner I would want this video to lead to positive action from those who watch it – and there is no ‘ask’. So, it’s there, it amuses (or irritates, or both) and then it’s gone.
If anyone has the energy to do something similar, and better, then something similar about the bodies piling up in Scotland asking people to email Roseanna Cunningham to introduce licensing of game shooting would be good, and quite timely… Just saying.

Yes it would be better with a tag line to do something, contact your MP, MSP, or MS about etc.
However it is very good not sure funny is the word, gets the message across and its NOT unfair to Killtruth Gilruth or our best advert in the game cabal Duncan Thomas. Shows them for what they are— The bloody handed apologists of wildlife crime in shooting.
Oh wouldn’t it be great to have someone like Sarah Cooper do a Killruth or Duncan Thomas etc.
It just doesn’t work arguing logically with lies. We need to repeat them and expose them for what they are. Sod fairness, the gloves have been off for a long while, 65 years to be precise.
