British Wildlife is moving from 6 issues per year to 8 issues. There’s so much to say about our wildlife that the magazine needs to come out more often. Hooray! As well as February, April, June, August, October and December you will now get a treat in May and November too.
In this issue, my regular column, Naturally Opinonated, is really about the title of this blog ‘Standing up for Nature’, and it’s opening line is ‘I am resolute, you are stubborn and they are bloody-minded’. That’ll give you a flavour of it.
But you get a double dose of me in this issue with a comment piece on Lockdown which asks the question was it the best of times or the worst of times? A little of both, I’d say.
The magazine has plenty else including the incomparably sardonic Twitcher in the Swamp, Brett Westwood, Amy-Jane Beer and Jobn Dunn (all incomparably incomparable) and a Raven called Hugh from Scotland as well as book reviews, conservation news and habitat management news – and more.
Moving from 6 to 8 issues is good, but we want 12! we want 12! we want 12!

Yes, but they have had the cheek to put it up four quid, something else will have to go.
