Best bird book of 2020?

The Birdwatch Birders’ Choice awards allow you to vote for the best bird book of the year. These are the five short-listed books:

I’ve only read one of these books, but to be fair, there are probably only three of them that I would be likely to pick up through interest. On the basis that it is a superb book which was published back in the spring (and therefore may have faded from memory) I’ll be voting for Red Sixty Seven.

  1. Mark, my bookcase is full of your recommendations and much enjoyment they have bought. You are right, Red Sixty Seven is a good book and for a good cause, but if you really haven’t read Dara’s would you please allow me to recommend it to you. There must be few 16 year olds who can write so eloquently. You have missed a treat.

  2. My vote is for Dara. Do watch him accepting the Wainwright Prize for Nature Writing via you tube earlier this year. What an eloquent, articulate speech from an inspirational young man.
