This story is relevant to this plog and needs telling, I honestly think Zimov deserves a Nobel prize for his brilliant foresight and the immense practical efforts he took that proved it was right – https://www.cbsnews.com/news/siberia-pleistocene-park-bringing-back-pieces-of-the-ice-age-to-combat-climate-change-60-minutes-2020-02-02/
Prescient and powerful poem Peter. Creates ghostly images and futures. With all our present problems we often forget the bigger picture and the serious problems we and the planet face. What we have lost and what we are losing.
I will never forget the images of burning koalas crawling through the embers of Australia. So much more lost, unseen.
Thank You
Powerful sobering imagery that can only add urgency to the growing clarion call to take our stewardship of Mother Earth seriously. I would love to use this in one of my classes next year, I think it’s message will resonate strongly with my students. Thanks so much for sharing this.
