British Wildlife – Fake National Parks

The August issue of British Wildlife arrived through my letterbox this morning – has yours?

I won’t have time to settle down and read it until after the Bird Fair but I did have a quick flick through my own piece on our Fake National Parks – I fear this may raise a few hackles.

British Wildlife have a stand at the Bird Fair – Marquee 6, stand 47 – why not pop in and see them there.

I’ll be writing about our Fake National Parks over the next few weeks, starting next week.

  1. Naturally Opinionated was more than ok, it was spot on! That’s Gove’s cards marked ….

Letter from Caledonia Dead meat was thought provoking as well!

British Wildlife is to be congratulated for the mix they run, natural history and occasional campaigning piece(s), we need facts, inspiration but also a call to arms when the need arises.

As an aside, NE have been instructed to generate revenue so you could see them looking at a model of charging for access to NNRs perhaps (already started with car parking charges), despite some being in unfavourable condition?

National Parks are not national assets but a collection of mixed land owners with mixed agendas so more complex to achieve environmental / wildlife benefits?

Here’s to your erudite analysis of Fake NPs, look forward to you ruffling feathers. Time some of the talkers went into moult 😉
