#justiceforannie thunderclap

Annie

Annie‘ was a female Hen Harrier which was found shot on a grouse moor in Scotland. She has become the symbol for attracting people to sign up to a social media thunderclap tagged as #justiceforannie.

This was the idea of the Moving Mountains Nature Network (@MMNNActionUK) and it will send out a message about our e-petition through Facebook, Tumblr and Twitter on 30 November.  Until then we are building the ‘social reach’ of that thunderclap – it’s already at over 3.5 million. The more people who sign up with their support – the more people will see the message.

We had a fantastic weekend – the number of supporters increased from c650 to over 1000, and the social reach went through the 3 million and 3.5 million barriers.

Thank you to all who have supported this initiative to spread the word. I wonder how effective it will be? We’ll have to wait until 30 November to find out but please join if you do use social media and become an active participant in a massive social media experiment. Thank you.

  1. I presume Prince William will be thunderclapping with us all and has added his very high profile signature to the petition since “no tradition is worth the extinction of an entire species”.
