Green Greeks

Beware Germans bearing gifts may be the watchword in Athens now, but if you raise your eyes above the floor to the heavens, or just short of them,  then you may see signs of green shoots of growth in the Greek economy.  Or at least on the roof of the Treasury in Athens.

These two images of a green roof – which looks like a purple, red, yellow and green roof to me – are from Athens and I thank Andrew Clements of Oikosteges for permission to use them.

Dusty Gedge – yes, I know it’s an unlikely sounding name – is one of the leading proponents of green roofs in the UK (and he juggles too) but other sources of information are here, here and here.
