  1. Do you feel you had enough time? I have reviewed books lately and the authors have missed important bits out. I know that gives others chance of another book but when its yourself you may feel that ‘if only’!!

    1. John – there is never enough time. But then, if there were all the time in the world then most of us would take it and never finish anything. All faults in this book will be due to the author’s inability and not time constraints.

  2. Hi Mark

    Message TO Martha (Kentucky Bluebird)

    Have I missed something? Probably!
At the risk of appearing …. what’s the word ? Stupid?

Has anyone here already referred to the Adam Faith song : Take a Message to Martha: Interesting lyrics?

    ADAM FAITH
    A Message To Martha

Spread your wings for New Orleans
    Kentucky bluebird, fly away

And take a message to Martha, message to Martha
She sings each night in some cafe
In her search to find wealth and fame
I hear Martha has gone and changed her name

It’s a year since she was here
    Kentucky bluebird, fly away

And take a message to Martha, message to Martha
Tell her I miss her more each day
As her train pulled out down the track
Martha promised she’d soon be coming back

Oh tell her how my heart just breaks, in two
    Since she journeyed far
And even though her dreams of fame fell through
To me she will always be a star

Spread your wings for New Orleans
    Kentucky bluebird, fly away

And take a message to Martha, message to Martha
Ask her to start for home today
When you find her please let her know
Rich or poor, I will always love her so

    Fly away, Kentucky bluebird
    Fly away, Kentucky bluebird
Fly away, fly away, fly away, fly away…

      1. I have found – over the years – that, on careful reflection, I have rarely been ‘wrong’ especially when others were found to be ‘not right’ – as is the case of the ISG’s RBCT (watch this space)

As to being ‘bonkers’ – there is sometimes some merit in being so!

The ‘brain patterns’ are different – the ‘processing’ and resultant ‘output’ is interestingly different.

‘Normality’ is something to be eschewed.

        1. Trim, top man !

I don’t think we’d agree about alot of things but I do like the way you think!

By any chance did you go to the same Frank Skinner talk (he said trying to get up Doug’s nose) promoting his book “Dispatches from the Sofa” – where he describes how he reads what the clever people are telling him, makes his own mind up and then publishes his conclusions (in the then Times column under his name)?

          1. He’s a bloke who worked the iron foundrys in the Black Country apparently. Chris Collins took his name as his stage name with considerable success. His only fault is he supports WBA.

  3. Well done Mark and feel sure the book will be a success.
I have always admired the way you find time to give us so many blogs and personally have always appreciated your tolerance of some of us being rude at times also always smile at your reply’s when slightly annoyed, fact is if we dish it out we should be prepared to take it.

  4. Thanks for the song, Trimbush – very touching, and proving that on this blog at least we can disagree and still be friends !

  5. Mark, yes very well done – I like you really. But please start speaking to the nation not just your devoted followers. Same goes to Porritt and Lucas – JP used be in my face all the time – where’s he gone?
