Gorgeous harrier footage on the video. Fabulous. Do you think the queen watches the harriers at Balmoral? Are there any on the estate?
m parry – I understand that Hen Harriers are a bit thin on the ground in that part of the world. But don’t leap to any conclusions about the Royal estate – it’s quite high up and it’s in an area dominated by driven grouse shooting. Balmoral is in the part of Scotland where eagles are poisoned and Hen Harriers would be wise to avoid. HM the Queen might stand a better chance of seeing Hen Harriers at roosts near Sandringham in winter. Roydon Common is a good place to try – I saw some there last winter.
Thanks Mark. Was just thinking that if she saw them for herself she might place a high value on them.
