The parents were gathering food and then feeding the recently-fledged chicks on the path so I lay down and started crawling closer. Before long the adult male returned and was instantly surrounded by the hungry chicks!

I forgot to mention before, but when we left HH day a couple of weeks ago we had lunch in the car park at the top of the track. Lo and behold a stunning little linnet posed in a bush right in front of our car.
