I’ve been slightly on edge for a while as I’ve been waiting for my treasured binoculars to be returned to me – and, as you know, I’m heading to Israel at the end of the week.
When I say that my binoculars are treasured you might wonder, in that case, why I keep dropping them and putting them out of alignment! Yes, I did it again – in a dark car park in Glossop.
I took my injured binoculars to a nice man at In Focus at Rutland Water and he suggested that these things usually take about two weeks – could be more, could be less. Being so ancient, my binoculars were sent off to Zeiss to fix (see here too). It felt like things were being cut a little fine until I got the call last week. Phew!
I’ve seen every species of bird that I have ever seen – not very many though I admit (c1500?) – through these binoculars, and going to Israel, where I will see some lifers for me, without these binoculars would be a very strange experience.
