What a fine looking male – Henry anyway!
We’d been sussing out filming locations in the North York Moors one day last week and we needed a nice cup of coffee so, by chance, we visited the Milburn Arms Hotel where we did have a very enjoyable cup of coffee.
OK, it wasn’t completely by chance as we knew that there was going to be a GWCT group heading off from there for a walk on the moors to learn about different aspects of keepering and grouse management. Some seemed a bit bemused by Henry, some smiled broadly, others stopped for a brief and friendly chat and a man with a clipboard pretended that he wasn’t walking past a 6-foot Hen Harrier.
Henry asked me what a penguin was and I had to explain that some grouse managers weren’t that good at identifying live birds. Henry didn’t seem very chuffed to be likened to a flightless fish-eating bird. He was a bit sulky all the way home.
Still, the filming locations look good. Let’s hope it doesn’t rain in mid-July.

Flightless penguins Mark??
Be careful Henry – that could be a sack of bendiocarb between you and the enemy.
