Nice to read such a succinct description of the problem especially without the DGS lobbyists having a last word with their vitriolic bollocks.
Tom Grose – ‘u’ are kidding?
In what way, Andy? It’s the author’s name, what’s the problem? I did a bit of editing, but, other than the title suggestion, it was all down to Tom.
Remember that this happens throughout all areas where driven grouse shooting takes place from Derbyshire , Bowland the whole Pennine chain and much of eastern Scotland. It cannot be allowed to continue whatever the apologists say
I would encourage everyone to get the word out as widely as possible, in all areas with driven grouse shooting and beyond, not just within the more obvious nature/conservation circles but to a much wider spectrum as Tom has done; Now Then magazine predominantly covers cultural issues focused on Sheffield and Manchester (so either side of the Peak District grouse shooting badlands). Only a small percentage of it’s tens of thousands of readers are likely to aware of such sites as this blog, so articles like Tom’s are presenting the case to a largely new audience.
Agree with JimC we all need to market new audiences and introduce them to the issue.
