  1. Nice to read such a succinct description of the problem especially without the DGS lobbyists having a last word with their vitriolic bollocks.

    1. In what way, Andy? It’s the author’s name, what’s the problem? I did a bit of editing, but, other than the title suggestion, it was all down to Tom.

  2. Remember that this happens throughout all areas where driven grouse shooting takes place from Derbyshire , Bowland the whole Pennine chain and much of eastern Scotland. It cannot be allowed to continue whatever the apologists say

    1. I would encourage everyone to get the word out as widely as possible, in all areas with driven grouse shooting and beyond, not just within the more obvious nature/conservation circles but to a much wider spectrum as Tom has done; Now Then magazine predominantly covers cultural issues focused on Sheffield and Manchester (so either side of the Peak District grouse shooting badlands). Only a small percentage of it’s tens of thousands of readers are likely to aware of such sites as this blog, so articles like Tom’s are presenting the case to a largely new audience.

  3. Agree with JimC we all need to market new audiences and introduce them to the issue.

As we are all well aware (some more than others) Rome wasn’t built in a day but remember also that Nero fiddled whilst it burnt ….
