Birder, ringer, blogger and campaigner Findlay Wilde set up this thunderclap which will spread its message tomorrow.
A thunderclap is a social media tool that spreads messages. If you are on Twitter, Facebook or Tumblr and you sign up to Findlay’s thunderclap then at 11am on 21 March all your social media contacts will be sent the following message:
‘As our #HenHarriers head back to the uplands for breeding season, I hope they avoid the persecution that haunts them’
Nothing contentious there then.
Findlay’s thunderclap already has attracted over 700 supporters with a social reach of just below 2.5 million – that’s a lot of messages. But Findlay’s friends are probably not the same people as your friends, so if you sign up to the thunderclap then you will be helping to spread the word even more – and that must be a good thing.

A massive thank you Mark for sharing the thunderclap and thanks to everyone who has signed up. I have tried to thank each person on Twitter, but I don’t have a Facebook account. I am also asking everyone to Tweet from 10:45 – 12:00 tomorrow using #HenHarriers as this will help get it trending and be seen by even more people. The Thunderclap has risen to 767 now and we still have 16 hours to go. Brilliant.
Findlay – well done you!
