I trust you used the village centre horse trough to bath in as customary for all busting birders from UK?
There’s an interesting book to be written about the role of British ornithologist/naturalists in Andalucia (esp. in the west where they were often linked to the sherry trade or the British garrison on Gibraltar). Although the link started earlier, Chapman & Buck’s ‘Wild Spain’ did a great deal to inspire generations of Brits to visit the area including Mountfort et al (and thus had minor role to play in the genesis of European field guides).
Mark Give some swallows a lift back we are badly down in numbers, only one so far.
