I was on an authors’ panel at a National Badger Week event in Wytham Wood on Tuesday evening. It was great fun – apart from the Badgers.
We were chaired and facilitated by Charlie Moores (leftmost), and we were Dom Dyer, Hugh Warwick, Caspar Henderson and myself.
We chatted about writing, about nature and about politics. I enjoyed it and I got a couple of ideas for future blogs out of it!
Talking of blogs, and continuing the theme of young bloggers, have a look at this one by Alex White – Appleton Wildlife Diary – it’s pretty good. Alex is one of the people in the photo at the foot of this blog – I bet you can guess which one.
So I met some old friends, and some potential new friends, had a good time and had some useful conversations but the Badgers let us down. Bl**dy Badgers! We stood in a wet Wytham Wood for 45 minutes and saw not a single Badger – oh well! Next time.

It was an excellent meeting Mark and very stimulating. Like you, very sorry not to have seen a badger (but the flapjack was delicious|).
Apart from about the first four minutes or so, I have a full recording, so I know what you said!
My partner – a rather inanimate object – once got run over by a badger (it ran over his foot). Makes a change!
