Alan Stewart, former police officer and current author, says;
‘I used to help with grouse beating and occasionally shoot grouse. The wildlife crime I encountered on driven grouse moors while a police wildlife crime officer, especially on those intensive moors managed by sporting agents, and the almost impossibility of obtaining a conviction, convinced me the only way to stop those at the root of this crime is to cut off the financial aspect and ban driven grouse shooting.‘
To join Alan Stewart, please sign Gavin Gamble’s e-petition which calls for a ban on driven grouse shooting.

Thanks to Alan Stewart for his honesty, as someone who has been there, done that and seen the horrors of the wildlife crimes that constantly go on, more so where shooting grouse is concerned. – In fact, more than that, as shooting grouse is the ONLY thing those involved give a damn about. If it is not a grouse and has feathers, fur or spines… shoot it, trap it, beat it to death.
It is absolutely sickening to see pictorial evidence of such crimes and ‘Joe public’ need to add their weight, or just a signature to back the fight against this archaic practice.
