  1. My word, that Rough Guide had a pretty instant effect on you. Really looking forward to your comments but enjoy the wonderful scenery.

  2. An educated guess, but I suspect Mark is going to personally deliver the petition on Icelandic whaling to the PM office.

High impact value, assuming local press have been informed.

    But, I assume we’ll see…

  3. A treeless prospect grazed to within an inch of its life. Wide open and spectacular.

Sound familiar? The photo could be Upper Teesdale.

In contrast however, where you are is packed full of birdlife (at the right time of year – probably not September!)

Enjoy your trip. Puffin and shag are sustainable eating(?) the whale meat probably isn’t.

  4. Enjoy the horse meat burgers and rotting shark! I think Puffins are no longer on the menu due to their decline!
Make sure you see the large forest in the east with the Woolly Willow growing tall under that micro climate!

  5. Is it just me, or does that waterfall look very ‘un-UK’? Be incredibly rare for a river that size to have a waterfall both that high and that wide in UK. Is it the young geology, not eroded itself much of a ‘V’ yet? Any geologists out there?

  6. It’s not simply the size of it. I can’t figure out why all the water hasn’t slid over to the right.

Puffin and shag were on the menu in 2013 but I accept they may be off by now.
