Although not impossible, “IMPORTANT: this licence does not permit the killing of woodpigeons solely for commercial and / or recreational purposes, and only activities conducted in accordance with this licence are authorised.”
“If there is evidence that this licence is being used inappropriately then Natural England may review this licence.”
Sorry Mark, you may indeed have difficulty locating pigeon pie.
Hi Mark,
I’m keen to get your thoughts on the new interim Woodpigeon GL? I think it’s not too bad of an outcome for both sides of the argument. It allows pest control to continue and also makes what needs to be produced as evidence to justify lethal clearer. I even see NE state that lethal methods work well alongside non lethal ones such as shooting to scare.
I see Michael Gove is taking control from NE on this now to ensure final licences are issued based on consultation and evidence, is this your understanding too?
Cheers

S – I’ll certainly be reading the Woodpigeon GL over the weekend. I may blog about it when I’ve read it.
I’ve spoken to a few farmers locally about Woodpigeons too.
I had heard that Gove is going to be spending his time fixing Brexit and fixing the dangerous Jackdaw – I’m not sure whether that is true or not.
Thanks Mark
