Can you help?

Here’s a big pile of boxes;

What is in the boxes?

Photographic plates – lots of them.

Photographs of what, you might ask?

Photographs of birds, by John T Fisher.

These glass plates, about 200 of them, are looking for a home, a good home.

I’m merely an intermediary here. The slides were given to a nature conservation organisation by Mr Fisher’s widow. This seems to me to be a valuable resource – historically valuable and potentially financially valuable. We believe that these images are mostly from the 1950s and 1960s. There are images of eggs and birds, and some of them are in colour.

I’d be interested in knowing more about Mr Fisher but the main aim of this post is to find a good home, or homes, for his images – rather wonderful images for the time I’d say. Contact me on [email protected] with any offers of a good home for this resource and I will pass on messages to those holding the glass photographic plates.
