Have you signed Marcus Rashford’s petition on free school meals? I have, even though I am quite persuaded by the argument that there are better ways to spend the money to help the poor at this time. But it’s a relatively small amount of money and even if some of it was wasted it’s a small waste to do good – as opposed to vast spends on HS2, nuclear submarines and many other things which are big spends on doing not much good (in my opinion).
Rashford’s petition is over 800,000 signatures ahead of Wild Justice’s Badger petition but that’s fine. I did notice though that whereas it took over 7 weeks between submission and publication for our Badger petition, Rashford’s was published the day after submission. I’m not complaining about that but it suggests there are all sorts of things going on in determining when petitions are published – it’s certainly not a queue where petitions get published in strict order of submission, and that opens the process up to manipulation,

Go to the petition site and watch the counter. It’s quite amazing.
