Should I say yes?

I get a lot of these – at least one such email a day.

If you think I should be saying yes to these unsolicited junkemails then let me know and I could fill this site up with them…

Hi Mark,

I hope you’re doing well.

I’ve been reading some of your content for some time now and would love to collaborate with you on one of your existing articles.

I’m wondering if you’re open to adding value to this post: https://markavery.info/2016/10/31/guest-blog-nature-halloween-findlay-wilde/

What do you think?

Talk soon,

Hello,   My name is ****** and I’m the co-founder of ********, a bespoke content creation studio. My main focus is putting into words the complex and colorful thoughts of my interior design clients.    I recently came across your website and was wondering if you’d be interested in a guest post?    I’d love to write a post for your website and add value to your readers. If you are interested, please let me know your guidelines and rates!   Thank you,

My name is Eliot, and I’m the editor in chief at www.*********; we’re a US-based entertainment quiz website and continuously look for new things
on the market – and that’s actually how I found your website.

I love the stuff you put out and must congratulate you on that! I was wondering if you’re offering guest post services – as in one of our professional writers writes on topics very similar to those
covered in your website, and I already have a few ideas with high traffic keywords for a guest post in mind that I’m sure will be interesting for your readers.

Of course, the article will be written by a professional copywriter, with SEO in mind (to drive traffic to your website) – and free of charge for you. If we could mention our site in an unbiased and natural way – that would be great.

Let me know what you think! Would love to see if we can create a long-term
partnership and do lots of fun stuff together in the future that’s beneficial for both of us!

All the best,

Hey markavery.info team,

First of all, congratulations on creating and running such a fantastic website!
I’m reaching out because it’d be a pleasure to write a quality guest post for you. I’m a professional makeup artist and a beauty specialist, and I have my very own website – www.mirrorank(.)com – where I write specifically about mirrors, even though I cover a bit of everything related to beauty.

Writing an article for you – original, engaging, lengthy, high-quality copyright-free images – would be a great way not only for me to reach out to a wider audience but to also offer you and your website a quality piece of information. If you accept link placements on your already existing articles, I’m also open to that.

Let me know what you think and if you have any questions or a specific topic you want me to write about, feel free to tell me!

Looking forward to hearing from you,

I’m a finance content editor and have been managing a few finance blogs for almost 3 years. I came across your article markavery.info and I enjoy reading about make money online and productivity hacks for entrepreneurs as there are always new perspectives and helps me to refine my knowledge.

I’m emailing to see if you’d be interested in a small collab.

We are happy to cover any editorial costs for this.

I look forward to your reply.

  1. Beauty & make-up tips for birdwatching! Can’t wait.
Seriously – must be driving you round the bend. Plus you must get abusive stuff as well. You have my admiration for sticking it out.
    Thanks.

  2. What’s not to like? All these wonderful people wanting to help you.
Bespoke creation studio. Entertainment quiz website. Makeup and beauty specialist ( well, ok, maybe that one). Finance content editor. Professional landscaper.
Don’t you just love it when all these hugely busy people take the time to ‘reach out’. Well you did say you wanted guest blogs!

  3. I have a button that says “Move to junk and blacklist domain”. I use it a lot.

But as yet I have not been accosted by a professional makeup artist and beauty specialist

  4. It’s a shame to waste such exciting opportunities. Instead of saying yes or no, send them in the direction of the Moorland Association. Finance, landscape gardening and interior design would seem more in line with their members’ interests. Apologies, of course to any interior designers reading this.

  5. Not really. If I want something off topic I will go there.
I’m replying because it will make a problem I was mulling over worse.
As you add blogs one? drops off the bottom of the page. I’m lazy and hate these websites that have only so many things on a page. Some of us country dwellers have slow broadband so it’s best if I can read the first article while the rest downloads. Rather than click for more and twiddle my thumbs.
I do wonder if this short page blog format suffers from the google search effect, no one bothers to look at more than the first page.
You once said good content is often added a day later. Rather than remember how many answers there were when you read it. I think there is a crafty way you can be shown that there are new posts added since you last looked.
    Good stuff keep it up.

  6. I used to get a lot of phone/email contact from Indian ladies and gentlemen offering me all osrts of things (usually in exchange for my bank details). I found that repeated Anglo-Saxon abuse usually resulted in them stopping contacting me.

  7. On the whole Mark I think you should politely say no. If one seemed particularly interesting one might follow it up to be quite sure, first off, is it a bonafide offer. I would imagine there are quite a lot of these that are misleading and basically “traps” one way or the other. I would not put it pass a few of the shooters to set such traps,
Be very careful and don’t waste too much of your valuable time, if any, on such offers.

  8. Hi Mark, I suggest saying”No” to those you have shared. However it would be great if you could post a parapragh on this project which seems to be getting very little support.

It is a fundraiser by Nidderdale Raptor Forum in collaboration with Northern Raptor Forum to purchase Hen Harrier satellite tags for the RSPB.
I’m sure people would like to contribute to it if they knew about it.
    Thanks.

  9. A huge compliment ! It’s quite clear the only reason you are getting these is because the blog has passed a hit threshold – they’ll be automatically generated, and for a wildlife campaigning blog to make it is quite something ! And, obviously, don’t waste your time – I fear not one of them will save a single Hen Harrier.

  10. Only say yes once you’ve considered how many intelligent, well read, thoughtful and articulate readers you want to replace with vacuous, shallow , egocentric, avaricious parasites looking to feed off your work.

    Now where’s that ‘wink’ emoji?

  11. Any communication that included the phrase, ‘I’m reaching out’, would provoke an immediate negative reaction from me. It’s a form of words which I associate with dishonest motives.

    1. I hear what you are saying but it’s now current usage so you have to mostly dismiss your ante-postmodern paradigms. Which begs the question why such phrases gain currency. Hopefully someone will have the answer.

  12. Best ignored and consigned to the bit bucket.

Unsolicited marketing e-mails are cyclical. The volumes go up when there’s a downturn in economies. But they never return to the pre-downturn level. Your examples are the nicer end of the spectrum.

  13. My website provider filters all these out. I have to look in the junk folder to find them, amd when I do there’s loads. I can’t believe the number one receives is related in any way to the number of subscribers one has!
