Another 1000 signatures and 13 days left

That was quick! The latest 1000 signatures on our e-petition to ban driven grouse shooting arrived in just five days. We have now passed 28,000 signatures. Thank you to everyone who has signed, shared and helped in various ways. If you are active on Facebook then please ask your friends to like this page but…

The missing signatures – mind the gap!

I recently received this email from an RSPB member and keen member of a local RSPB group. ‘I have just finished reading your book ‘Inglorious’, which I found very informative. I had no idea that driven grouse shooting had such a deleterious effect on wild life, especially on birds of prey, and I now would…

Another mini-milestone

Our e-petition to ban driven grouse shooting has passed another small milestone today when it reached, and passed, 27,399 signatures. Why? Because last year, in a longer period of time (almost twice as long) a similar e-petition reached 22,399 signatures so we have exceeded that by a round 5,000 signatures and the signature count keeps…

27,000! And an offer

Our e-petition to ban driven grouse shooting passed 27,000 signatures yesterday evening. It has accrued 2000 signatures in the last month or so which is pretty good going. The e-petition closes on 21 January (I’m not sure what time on that day!) and so we are entering the finishing straight. This is pretty good going,…

Climate march in London today

Together we are powerful – that was the message that thousands of people sent to our politicians in London this afternoon – and others were sending the same message in other cities across the UK and across the world this weekend. How many of us were there? I don’t know. I’d guess 20,000-40,000 but maybe…

And by the way…

…our e-petition to get a debate on driven grouse shooting passed 24,000 signatures yesterday. Another milestone  – and thank you to all who have helped get there. This was, by far, the slowest additional 1,000 signatures of the lot – but I don’t think that means that the e-petition has lost steam – there are…

Putting the abolition of driven grouse shooting on the map

The e-petition website is getting rather flashy these days. Our e-petition to ban driven grouse shooting is doing fine, ticking along, and now you can look at a map of where the signatures come from. Just look for the link under the current signature total and click, and you’ll see a map very like the…
