Did St Nicholas visit your house on Christmas Eve and deliver presents? And was his sleigh powered by eight reindeer; Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donder and Blitzen (and then there’s Rudolph too)?
Real-life reindeer, or caribou, are having a tough time of it, and not through sleigh-pulling exhaustion (see also here and here).

Are Santa’s reindeer (Rudolph included) all female? I was always led to believe that male reindeer lose their antlers in winter, but the sleigh-driving ones always seem to be depicted with their headgear intact. Of course, Rudolph could have been a male gelding, which might explain why “All of the other [female] reindeer used to laugh and call him names”. That bright red nose was, frankly, the least of his worries….
