  1. Mark, And a Merry Christmas from both of us as well. I suspect that Kempton will have more water jumps than usual.

  2. To all, a happy & healthy Darwinmas.

Here’s to 2014, with its inevitable challenges and opportunities, here’s hoping that conservation can rise to them all.

  3. Seasons greetings Mark and to all fellow readers.

Many thanks Mark for another fine year of blogging and environmental reportage, lets hope 2014 brings better news for nature. I’ll look forward to Wuthering Moors Part 100!

Enjoy Kempton Park, the King George is, imho, second only behind the Queen Mother Championship Chase as the best steeple chase of the year. As this years field looks ultra-competitive, my pockets will be firmly buttoned-up.

  4. Happy Christmas to you and your family Mark. Thanks for the blogs, and if you have a tip for the race, let me know!

  5. Happy Christmas, Mark, and to all your blog readers and contributors. And here’s wishing a good new year for the Birds !

  6. Seasons Greetings from the only people in Alderbury or Pitton that have any leccy – says Postman Ken

  7. Happy Christmas to you, family and fellow commenters even extend greetings to those who are keen to press like and dislike buttons but need a bit more bottle to say why they like or dislike.
Like Ernest say a big thank you for the years blogging and of course I am biased but think we would have to go a long way to find someone as passionate about fighting for wildlife.
My wish for the new year, friendlier relations between majority of farmers and majority of conservationists, not much chance but surely it will have to happen one year.

    1. I’d take the ‘dislikes’ as a compliment if I were you Dennis, it would be a very dull world if we all thought the same and agreed on everything. Have a merry Xmas – I’ll look forward to more lively discussion with you in 2014.

    2. Dennis, On various forums we have jousted occasionally but always with the same aim in mind, the preservation of our wildlife. Best wishes for Xmas and next year and if I get to Arne on a Wednesday we may well bump into each other. Bob

  8. Season’s greetings Mark. Good to take a day off from blogging, means I don’t have to get up at six to read it!

    Richard.

  9. Ernest, very kind of you to put it like that, find myself agreeing more and more with you as strange as that may sound, wish you a merry Christmas also.

  10. Seasons Greetings to you and all contributors. Hoping for progress in 2014 and some changes of approach.
