Mark writes: wouldn’t it be interesting to know what is in our politicians’ minds?
There are some politicians who don’t seem to be able to open their mouths without putting their feet in them. After they have perpetrated too many foot-in-mouths they seem to disappear from the scene. Is there a cupboard in Whitehall which contains silenced politicians?
Whatever happened to:
– Francis Maude after he told people to store petrol in their houses?
– Oliver Letwin after he was caught putting confidential papers into litter bins in St James’s Park?
– Owen Paterson after the badgers moved the goalposts?
Are they all in a cupboard somewhere? With their mouths taped up, perhaps? Is there room in there for any more?

Maybe they still get sent to the Northern Ireland Office?
