Nothing earth-shattering

Today:

  • I read quite a lot about grouse shooting and its history
  • I watched a Red Admiral feeding on ivy in my garden
  • I ‘phoned a friend
  • I sat in the garden enjoying the sunshine
  • I booked train tickets to go to London on the People’s Climate March on Sunday

Tomorrow:

  • I will reveal the results of my ornithological brain teaser
  • We will learn whether the Scots have voted for independence or not (I am pretty sure they won’t have done)
  • I will give a talk on Passenger Pigeons near Woodstock in Oxfordshire
  • I hope to spend some time sitting in the garden in the sunshine again

A question:  both filbert cobb and Doug Mack Dodds have experienced problems posting (long) comments today. Anyone else had any, having any, problems?  I am not aware of any problems with the site. Please let me know – by a comment (1) or by an email ([email protected]).

  1. The referendum whatever the outcome will raise a number of other issues.

My local M.P (James Gray, Cons. North Wilts) when addressing the West Lothian question (the English Question) has stated the following in an article he circulated today.

“For too long, Scottish MPs have voted on English matters. That must be ended. Scotland would be massively over-represented at Westminster. Their MPs must be culled appropriately.”

I wonder whether Natural England will be required to issue a licence for that purpose once they have finished with badgers.

    1. or maybe they’ll start authorising / licencing control of vermin on grouse moors which receive public funding?

  2. Spot on on the referendum. As always the bookies have it (in more ways than one)
I like the idea of culling MPs. I offer ours, Jacob Rees-Mogg, to kick off
