The Green Party of England and Wales is the only UK political party, as far as I am aware, which supports a ban of driven grouse shooting. And this has not just been through passive support, the current party leader, Natalie Bennett, amongst others, has spoken out in social media on this subject (also see this guest blog by Caroline Allen).
Indeed, Natalie will be speaking at the Hen Harrier Day event in the Peak District and will also be present at the Bird Fair this year (more on this later). Thank you Natalie – your support, and that of your party, is much appreciated.
Caroline Lucas’s seat, and those where the Greens came second at the last general election, or seats where they came third, have high numbers of signatures (remember the overall average is currently 57):
Brighton Pavilion – 140 signatures
Sheffield Central – 134 signatures
Bristol West – 130 signatures
Norwich South – 118 signatures
Holborn and St Pancras – 79 signatures
Liverpool Riverside – 79 signatures
Islington North – 76 signatures
Lewisham West and Penge – 73 signatures
Walthamstow – 68 signatures
Hackney North and Stoke Newington – 58 signatures
Camberwell Peckham – 57 signatures
Lewisham Deptford – 53 signatures
Leyton and Wanstead – 44 signatures
Hackney South and Shoreditch – 39 signatures
Tottenham – 38 signatures
Vauxhall – 37 signatures
Manchester Gorton – 37 signatures
Tooting – 35 signatures
Bethnal Green and Bow – 30 signatures
Ealing Southall – 29 signatures
So come on Greens – thank you for your strong support. Please spread the word to sign up to support your party policy and help get a debate in the Westminster parliament to ban driven grouse shooting.

Just joined the Greens.
Wife can’t, she’s already an LP member. At least that will give us something else to argue about.
