38,000 – and your help needed please

38000Yesterday when I was in…oooh!…nearly gave it away thenour e-petition passed 38,000 signatures.

That is, in two months, a third of the time available, we are well past a third of the way towards the 100,000 signatures needed to generate a debate in Westminster on the future of grouse shooting, and therefore to bring the arguments and questions to a much wider audience.

I have quite a few ideas for accelerating the rate of signing of the e-petition and so do some friends, but all of them depend on spending some money – and we are already spending our own money on this campaign – so I will be asking you if you are prepared to make a small  (or large if you wish!) financial contribution towards spreading the word. But I’m not asking that today – just a ‘heads up!’.

Since the last update a further nine constituencies have joined the ‘100 Club’, including Ceredigion, the first Welsh one.

  1. Yep! Certainly like to get at least one of the Oxon constituencies in the hundred club.

  2. Oxford is lagging well behind Cambridge here Richard..

On which I don’t think Daniel Zeichner will be too happy about being labelled a Conservative 😉

    1. Well done Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire. A bit like this year’s boatrace!!

  3. I’m afraid I don’t have much in the way of discretionary income, the most I can offer is a fiver or maybe a tenner. I know you said large or small, so I hope you don’t mind that it would have to be a very small donation. Sorry.
