I’m planning a meal out with friends and I’m trying to find the restaurant in London that is most aware of the issues surrounding game meat, particularly Red Grouse meat, for this treat. I won’t be eating grouse wherever we go, but I’d like to spend my money on my friends at a restaurant which is at the ‘more aware and responsible’ end of the spectrum and which is keen to learn more about the issues surrounding grouse shooting and the management of land for intensive grouse shooting. It won’t be Rules restaurant, for sure.
It also won’t be Bibendum, The Ivy, The Jugged Hare or La Gavroche who have not yet replied to my enquiry after several weeks.
On the other hand, I have had detailed discussions with two restaurants which sell Red Grouse and the door has been opened to talking to a few others.
Maybe one seat around the table could be for a reader of this blog. I wonder how we could choose the person – I’ll give it some thought.
