As you may have read, I did some work to this site over the weekend, with some help from some nice men (they have all been men so far) in Arizona.
The good news is that this site now loads noticeably faster for me, and for most of you.
The bad news is…not very bad.
The bad news is that some people (including me) have found some difficulty in loading some old posts from some links (there are four ‘somes’ in that sentence). If you haven’t noticed any problem then that is good news for you and for me. Hooray!
If you have any gripes about the functioning of this website (not its content – you’ll just have to live with that for a while) then now is a good time to tell me about them by leaving a comment on this post (and if you want the comment to be private then just mark it PRIVATE).
And/or if you’d like to give me some more structured feedback, and have five minutes to spare then please do this:
- Go to the ‘Search’ box towards the top right of this page and type in Guest blog and then press Return
- You should now have a list of 5 guest blogs which from the top are by Miles King (yesterday), Steven Robinson, Findlay Wilde, John Burton and Georgia Locock. Please click on each of these blogs in turn to open them (and you’ll have to click Back page in between each one) and then tell me, please, how you got on:

All working well – much faster – EXCEPT the Like/Dislike buttons have disappeared in Safari (10.0.1). No problem on my iPhone.
no like/dislike buttons in chrome either
m parry – I have just removed the like/dislike buttons and I will put them back later today. It’s the old turn it off and turn it on again expert approach to technology!
They all did ….. no problems …..
Just read Kevin’s reply and tried ‘Likes’ (again) …. all registered except Steven’s and Georgia’s which just showed (..)
I have noticed that the like button doesn’t load since the weekend. Or if at least very slow?
All blogs opened OK except for Georgia Locock which said Internal Server Error. And I also have problem with Likes/Dislikes. They are there but don’t seem to respond (also in Safari) .
We will just have to live with the content…for a while. What are you telling us???
When using Microsoft Edge all blogs opened OK except for Georgia Locock which said Internal Server Error. However, I couldn’t access the surveymonkey.com form.
I just tried using Firefox and couldn’t even open blog!
I use Firefox and the blog in general and the survey worked for me.
All worked, the last blog took a few attempts because it said server error. Likes and dislikes don’t work from my phone.

Mostlyl working fine for me. The last Guest Blog opened at second attempt after an error message. However Like/Dislike buttons are not working.
I posted the other day regarding difficulty with RSS via Sage in Firefox. This now looks like a coincidence – I can’t subscribe to any site’s RSS feed using Sage anymore. What’s more Firefox native Subscribe button also seems to have disappeared. Even after upgrading to FF 50.0. Mozilla does that kind of stuff now & then. Now using Newsfox RSS reader & Aggregator. This blog works OK with Newsfox. For now …
