Tim Melling – Grizzly Bear

Tim writes: every autumn Grizzly Bears move down to the rivers to feed on spawning salmon, which enables them to put on enough fat to sustain them through hibernation.  This is a huge battle-scarred male with a collapsed ear that scattered all the smaller bears when he arrived on the scene.  This was taken at Great Bear Lodge on coastal British Columbia.

Taken with Nikon D500 and Nikkor 300mm f4 lens with a 1.4x converter at f5.6 ISO 1250 1/800s

    1. It’s a bare necessity – yes.
It’s an ecological sine qua non – Ursus arctos needs to have freedom movement in Brexitland.
