I’m keeping a note of whether I see Red Kites on each day through the year – since I spent less than 24 hours in the UK in June the tally was a feeble 0 days out of 30.
January: 22 days out of 31.
February: 24 days out of 28.
March: 26 days out of 31.
April: 20 days out of 30.
May: 7 days out of 31
That makes 99 out of 181 overall.
Still, I am home now, and nobody burgled the house while we were away!

In June I spent the whole month in the UK in Kite country and yet it was the poorest month for sightings for the whole year because the nearest pair are a couple of miles down the valley and have not been here much. (9 out of 30)
Welcome back:-)
The moors are burning….
Welcome home, Mark. I hope you had a great time on your travels – missed your daily musings!
I managed one this month, in fact it was last week and only 9 miles from home. Others were BZ 28 out of 30, EA 10, HH 5, SH 4, GI 3, WE 5, PE 3, ML 1, K 8, OP 1.
Good to have you back.
