Red Kites in May

I’m keeping a note of whether I see Red Kites on each day through the year – in May the tally was a feeble 7 days out of 31. My absencves from the country this month, and from the world range of the Red Kite, explain the low strike rate.  Let’s see what June has to offer…

January: 22 days out of 31.

February: 24 days out of 28.

March: 26 days out of 31.

April: 20 days out of 30.

That makes 99 out of 151 overall.

  1. I live on the edge of western Northamptonshire but rarely see any Red Kites. I find this quite strange as I am smack bang in the middle of the largest populations in the uk.

  2. No kite sightings for me in May, out of a possible 22 days. BZ 20, EA 9, HH 10, MO 1, SH 4, GI 1, WE 1, OP 2, PE 5, ML 8, K 15
